In person
Your client holds the controllers. You run the session on the same screen.
Emdara buzzes them left, right, left, right from a browser tab. Use it with a client in the room or over video, add a light bar or tones if you want them, and skip the specialty hardware (and the specialty price tag).
Everything works on a computer in Chrome or Edge. Other browsers, phones and tablets get the light bar and tones, just no buzzing. No account, nothing to install.
Your client holds the controllers. You run the session on the same screen.
Send your client a link. They approve you, and their Stop always wins.
FAQ
Not yet. Only Joy-Con 2, the ones made for Nintendo Switch 2. The easy tell is the C button under the Home button on the right one.
Emdara is built so there's no client health information for it to hold in the first place. It never asks for a client's name, email, date of birth, diagnosis or session notes, and a remote session is just a random link plus a 6-character code.
Settings are saved in the browser. During a remote session the current settings (speed, intensity and so on) pass through our server so both screens match, and they're cleared when the session ends. Like every website, our server sees IP addresses when pages load, and we don't connect them to anyone.
Emdara doesn't do video, so whatever you use for the call itself still needs to meet your own requirements. If your practice needs something more formal for its compliance paperwork, email josh@emdara.com.
Yes, a left and a right, one for each hand.
Partly. The light bar and tones work on iPhone, iPad and Android. The controllers don't. Joy-Con 2 only connect on a computer (Mac, Windows or Chromebook) in Chrome or Edge. If your client joins a remote session from a phone, use the light bar or tones.
No. Sets only start with a therapist connected, in the room or over a remote session. Your client can pair and test their controllers on their own, and they can always hit Stop, but they can't run stimulation by themselves.
Use the on-screen light bar or tones. Neither needs controllers, and you can still run the session remotely.
Not yet, but more are on the list. Joy-Con 2 are the only ones we've had in hand to build and test against. If you've got other controllers or a set of EMDR buzzers you'd rather use, email josh@emdara.com and tell us which ones. It helps us decide what to add next.
Yes. The demo walks through pairing and setup with simulated controllers. Nothing buzzes, obviously, and sets still need a therapist connected.
Setup takes a few minutes and we'll show you every step.
